Round wood framed late 19th century mirror

A 19th century round mirror with a dark wood frame with gilded linear detail.

The gilding has worn down in places which gives it a great look of faded grandeur.

There is some foxing to the glass, particularly around the bottom edge when hanging, but in my opinion this adds to its character.

The frame has split at a join and while there is a small amount of movement when pushed, it is not loose and is stable. The piece of timber covering the back has cracked in two and been paper taped together.

A wonderful looking antique mirror.

The hoop to the reverse is sound and makes the mirror ready to hang.

37cm diameter to the outer frame.
