Pale Blue Brother typewriter made in 1968, working typewriter with new ribbon
This is a gorgeous powder blue typewriter made in Japan in February of 1968 from the underrated Brother company who began making very good quality typewriters in the early 1960s.
These machines are very sturdy and well built, in addition to their sleek minimal design and attractive colourways, here with the gorgeous pairing of pale blue against the white of the keys.
This typewriter has been checked, tested, cleaned, and tweaked. It shifts smoothly and types cleanly and comes fitted with a brand new black and red ribbon ready for you to start typing as soon as you take it out of the hard shell plastic carry case.
Several hours of cleaning all the keys on all sides and every type bar on both sides, in addition to the chassis and case. It has been lightly oiled on its principal moving parts, but not the type bars as these should just be cleaned, not oiled.
It is not without its signs of wear, a minor scratches of the paintwork, mostly on corners of the chassis and a few spots here and there. These are best seen in detail by zooming in on photos on a laptop/desktop to see these fully.
This is a fantastic, compact, fully functional and stylish typewriter of over half a century of age, but with plenty of life in it yet to type your next masterpiece…
Measures 30cm wide X 28.5cm deep X 8cm tall.
