c.1930s bagatelle – early pinball game
A forerunner of pinball, you can see where that arcade game got its name, with simply produced cups and bumpers for the ball to land in or be redirected by, made from an array of pins or nails.
Amongst them sit holes alongside a printed number of points.
Made from the traditional Sheesham aka Indian Rosewood, the top has lovely figuring, and after all these decades, it’s still in fine condition and functioning as it should.
An early example, circa 1930s, this has the traditional (original) push stick, and the board comes with 10 steel balls + 2 spares.
The board is raised at the top end by a wooden bar beneath so the balls run down into the area of play.
A great bit of family fun for young and old.
76cm long X 39cm wide X 5-7.5cm tall.
