Early 19th century Hoxton Square N.1 wooden London street sign
An wonderful early 1800s wooden north London street sign for Hoxton Square N.1 .
With beautiful amount of wear to the black border paint, and to the once white paint, now flaking and weathered after around two centuries in existence.
Surprisingly light for the size, this very wide sign came from a time in the first half of the 19th century when these street signs were made of wood.
A great British relic.
The sign can be rested on a shelf or similar. I didn’t want to hamper its integrity by screwing hanging hooks to the back. If I was to mount this antique sign, I would rest it on two screws underneath at either end (protected from the screw thread with perhaps a little black foam) with one or two above holding it from falling forward.
Measures 133.5cm wide X 13.5cm tall X 2cm deep.
This ships within the mainland UK only.
