Large late 19th – early 20th century enamel sign for ‘Colman’s Wash Blue’

A superb, large late 19th to early 20th century enamel sign for Colman’s Wash Blue, in a vibrant blue with white and yellow text.

A great, large piece of wall decor, or standing and leaning in the right space, with great, bold colours.

This piece of British advertising history promoted a mid-19th century discovery of Wash Blue, which, though blue, contained substances to help laundry come out white.

The same Colman’s who produced mustard from the early 19th century, by the middle of the 1800s they also moved into some other domestic products.

There are three usable screw holes at the top and another three at the bottom. The edges are rusted so best that all holes are used (if double checked to be secure) for maximum safety. The sign has some bends in it which would be rectified when wall mounted.

Measures 97cm wide X 91cm tall.

This ships within the mainland UK only.

Original price was: £350.Current price is: £285.
