Vintage hardback book ‘Victorian Flower Album’ after 1873 watercolours by Henry Terry

A lovely vintage hardback ‘Victorian Flower Album’, based on a large collection of wild flowers “collected and painted in the summer evenings of 1873 as a pleasing recreation.”
These were painted by Henry Terry for his three children.

For the first time, in 1978 these paintings were collated in a book, of which we have here a beautiful example.

With a preface, and a few pages of explanatory writings and an index of flowers, well over 100 pages are purely of lovely colour prints of the painted wild flowers with their names written beneath them by the author.

A wonderful book whose pages are tempting to cut out as framed pictures for the wall.

119pp.

Measures 27cm X 22cm X 2cm.
