Midcentury teak folding Home Office by Newcraft of London

A fantastic self-contained folding midcentury teak ‘Home Office.

An amazing 1960s tall teak sideboard by night unlocks and opens out into a unique and stylish comprehensive desk and office storage unit by day.

With numerous shelves, a large drawer, a multi-compartment drawer, and various vertical and horizontal sections, you will have no shortage of space for all your documents and various projects, as well as storage for laptop, art materials, stationery…

All shelves and drawers are large enough for A4 documents. To the bottom of the right side is a section for hanging files.

The pull out desk has optional widening flaps on both sides, and the top of the main section is covered in red leather.

This incredible office unit has another surprise, an original gooseneck lamp integrated into the top left of the cabinet. Able to be posed in any direction with the flexible neck, this has a slim polished aluminium shade and a push switch turns it on and off. The cable is threaded through the back top left and can then be plugged into a wall socket. The lamp has been PAT tested and bears the pass sticker to the shade.

Perfect for a smaller home where a dedicated home office isn’t available, but you can store all your work related items and close it up at the end of the working day, and it becomes an attractive tall sideboard with a small footprint.

The key keeps the door shut (an internal latch at the top secures the left side), but the cabinet could still be pulled open.

A superb solution for creating a home office in the daytime which you can close the door on in the evenings to transform into a homely vintage piece.

This piece has spent two and a half days with the furniture restorer, but there are still a few marks and knocks here and there. It is a used, practical piece of furniture of over 60 years of age.

Measures 84cm wide X 53cm deep X 114cm tall. The width when sides are at right angles so the desk surrounds on three sides is 128cm. Fully opened out the width is 169cm.
