A wonderful late 19th century Arts and Crafts period oak wood bobbin turned armchair.

With a rush seat in triangular form which is in great condition,

Bobbin turned furniture first appeared in the 17th century and returned renewed with less exaggerated forms in cottage furniture in the 19th century.

Comprehensively built with bobbins to every stretcher and spindle, this triangular form chair has a fantastic architecture, where from the side it looks like a huge part of chair isn’t there; a wonderful, begging piece of antique furniture.

The crest rail has a beautifully carved acanthus leaves above a minimal splay of back spindles.

This chair is fantastic in the lounge or a corner of a bedroom. Also nice to have in a larger kitchen, dining room or conservatory.

Measures 86cm tall at the back X 57.5cm at its widest to the outsides of the arms. The seat is 49cm in height. The overall depth is approx 46cm.
