Large Welsh oak spoon rack with carved candle box
Large antique oak Welsh spoon rack, with a hinged candle box to the base, circa early 1900s.
With two tiers of racks with oblong slots to carry the spoons, and a full width lidded candle box along the bottom, with an intricately carved lid.
There are 10 slots in total, each measuring approximately 3.5cm wide and 2cm deep.
There is a flower motif to the top of the rack panel in the centre of which is a hole by which it can be hung on a screw.
The modern wooden spoons are shown for display purposes only. I have also seen these racks repurposed for hanging necklaces, and the box for smaller pieces of jewellery.
Measures 66.5cm tall X 35cm wide X 12cm deep.
