Large, very heavy 19th century antique brass cooking pot
A large antique 19th century brass cooking pot with a large hoop, hinged blacksmith made iron handle.
Could be used as a serving dish for meals, or as a fruit bowl or an attractive planter.
This is the heaviest pot I have ever handled, extremely rigid and solid and will last another few centuries and beyond.
It has many decades of patina on it so I have left it with that on as it can’t be replaced easily, but this pan could also be cleaned with Brasso to shine a glowing bright brass colour. As is though, the variation in its patternation is beautiful.
Measures 34.5cm in diameter X 19cm tall.
