A large and striking photographic portrait from the 1940s of a woman in a relaxed pose, her black dress against white background a fantastic contrast of forms.
The woman pictured was known to be a fashion designer who worked in Porthcawl, South Wales in the inter-war period.
There is a bit of a curve to the board on which the photo is mounted and there are some light scratches which can be seen at certain angles.
