Imperial Good Companion model 6 typewriter, made in England in 1962 with original case

An excellent, solidly built 1962 Imperial Good Companion model 6 typewriter with a blue green shell with black and cream keys.

This is a very sturdy metal bodied typewriter from the early ’60s from the English company’s long running Good Companion series which dates back to the 1930s.

This model 6 has cream colour transport keys, black typing keys and steel levers for ribbon colour change and key resistance strength. There is some wear to the chassis through use but everything works as it should throughout. The print is very clear and strong, and very well aligned, please refer to the photo of the text.

This typewriter has a relatively flat paper angle so would suit a taller typist for the best viewing angle. It has a paper support which folds away, and single and double line spacing. PDF copies of the original manual showing all the features are easily found for free online.

The original light brown leather effect case is present, with nice brass details. The strap is coming apart and the zip seam has detached on one side, but the handle is very solid and it does the the job.

It has been cleaned, checked over and tweaked to ensure all functions work smoothly and will arrive with a brand new black and red ribbon, ready to type your next piece.

An excellent, reliable British made machine.
