Huge wall mirror in elaborately embellished foliate gilt frame
A sumptuous and immense gilt wall mirror in the ornate 18th century style, with foliage and blossoms adorning the corners and borders. There is an intricate oval surround to the glass.

This mirror is unapologetically ornate and bold with a maximalist grandeur. It really is huge! Please be sure to measure to get an idea of its scale.
Elegantly beveled at the edges, with a couple of spots in the glass.
Likely made in the early part of the last century, the frame is of a resin, and has a couple of minor breakages and a hairline crack to the outer decoration shown in photos. These have been disguised with applied and aged gold leaf and colour matched acrylic paint. These are visible but you have to look quite hard for them. I have tried to show them in close up photos.
A true statement piece, this large mirror could work beautifully in a larger hallway, over the mantle piece or in the lounge.
It is wired to the reverse, onto two large modern threaded loops for hanging securely.
Measures 106cm tall X 85cm wide.
