c.1950s Devon and Cornwall egg transportation box

A great looking pine egg transportation case made in the Yonder Hill Sawmills on the edge of London in around the 1950s.

Sourced in the Westcountry, this would’ve been used at a farm stacked with egg trays for transportation off to shops to sell.

The text is printed to both sides of the box.

Useful for storing anything you need but don’t want to see everyday, while being a great little coffee table.

After not being used for some time and gathering a lot of dust etc. it has been thoroughly cleaned inside and out and waxed to finish.

There is evidence of some historic woodworm particularly which has been given two liberal coats of woodworm treatment to be completely sure it’s all gone, and the exterior given a good quality wax polishing to protect and finish the surfaces.

A fantastically original and characterful piece for your home.

69cm wide X 34cm deep X 37.5cm tall.
