c.1920s French desk lamp, with rise and fall clam shell shade

An absolutely beautiful c.1920s nickel clam shell shaded lamp on a weighted steel base, with a thumb screw to raise and lower the light along the upright.

The light still uses its original rotary switch – very rare these days even on vintage pieces as they have usually broken or been swapped out. This one is in full working order, and just requires a partial turn to switch the light on, then back the other way to turn off.

The lamp has been professionally rewired, and earthed with 3 core cable. It has also been PAT tested and bears the pass sticker on its plug.

Perfect as an incredibly stylish and practical desk lamp, the head rising and falling exactly as high as you like it, and the shade tilts whichever direction you need light.

It has been cleaned and polished just lightly enough to return its original colour but retain its century of characterful patina.

It would also be great for a bedside table or a side table.

The height of the lamp from the base to the tip of the shade measure 51cm. The base measures 12.5cm in diameter. The shade measures 18cm deep X 10cm wide.
