c.1920s brass pendant ceiling light fitting with frosted glass handblown shade
A beautifully simple but striking brass rod pendant light, with an aged brass rose and ending on a perfectly proportioned frosted glass shade.
The glass shade whose frosted texture will make soften the light elegantly. The whole look is reminiscent of an old railway waiting room. It would be great in a hallway or landing, perhaps a downstairs loo or closet with a high ceiling.
It would’ve originally been a gas light with a brass lever piece at the screw, and a chain hanging from either side, one to pull to turn on and one to turn off the gas to fuel the incandescent light.
This light has been given new terminal blocks and PAT tested (September 2024).
A unique and beautifully succinct pendant light.
It measures 54cm tall in total from rose to shade opening, and the shade opening measures 14.5cm in diameter.
