Art Nouveau brass letterbox and knocker c.1908
A sublime looking Art Nouveau brass letterbox for the front door.
In perfectly curvaceous Art Nouveau form with a wonderful natural undulating design. The brass has the perfect amount of patina in my opinion, not gleaming new, and not too dark and dull, just right.
The lettering is in a divine Art Nouveau font with a hint of the Arts and Crafts which ran concurrently.
The registered design number embossed to the reverse dates to 1908. It could have been manufactured in the few years proceeding.
The original rods which go through the door are still present.
A knocker hangs below the slot so this is the only furniture you need on your beautifully adorned front door. Make your house look incredible!
19cm wide at knocker X 8.5cm total height. Letter section 12cm X 3.2cm. Bolt centres 14.9cm apart X 6cm long.
