A wonderful antique book plate entitled ‘PAINTING Outline, Expression &c.’ from a Victorian encyclopedia dating from c. 1860-80.
It’s also marked Plate 8 and Vol 9.
A fascinating and attractive collage of various details and techniques of artistry, focusing on faces and expressions with and attractive geometrical studies.
It is strung to the reverse so arrives ready to hang.
