1950s Pifco industrial Medical UV lamp, converted to standard table lamp
A fantastic looking space-age 1950s Pifco lamp.
This infrared lamp would have been used for therapeutic medical heat treatment. Now converted and rewired by a professional electrician to a table lamp taking standard bulbs. It has then been PAT tested and bears the pass sticker on its plug.
The black handle and shade can be pulled off the base (from its original use as a therapeutic lamp to be taken to specific parts of the body).
The base is cast steel. There is a large winding tightener which adjusts the angle of the arm and shade through close to 90°.
A fantastic, interesting industrial piece, in a really attractive Art Deco inspired form, now given a new life as a practical and unusual everyday lamp for the home.
The lamp is 32-47cm tall depending on the angle it is set at, and the base measures 18cm deep X 14cm front width. The lamp has a new 3 core black cable, inline switch and 3 pin UK plug.
