Early 1900s Holophane larger model E100 glass pendant light shade with brass gallery

A very stylish larger dome shaped ribbed glass Art Deco Holophane pendant ceiling light shade, from c.1900s, with attractive frill around the base.

A classic design which will look great in any setting. It is a model E100.

The whole of this ceiling light shade is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips, though there appear to be some scratches on the inside, these do not catch on a finger nail so are more likely imperfections inside the glass.

Holophane is a well known period light shade company from France, where they make high quality, thick fluted or ribbed glass shades. Holophane is impressed along the top of the shade, as shown in the photo, in addition to the model number and the date the design patent was registered, in 1909.

A lovely vintage brass gallery is present to attach it to your ceiling light fitting. It has developed plenty of patina over the decades.

The shade measures 16cm tall to the top of the gallery X 22cm at the base opening. The hole for mounting on the light fitting is 29mm in diameter.

At the time of listing a very similar, smaller Holophane shade is also available.
