1950s G Plan compactum, small wardrobe with shelving and drawers, hallway coat cabinet
A wonderful little mid century early G Plan E Gomme ‘compactum’ from the 1950s, with coat or clothes hanging space, drawers and a large cupboard.

To the left side is a hanging cupboard with an outwardly extending telescopic rail for hanging your coats in the hallway or clothes in the bedroom.
If used as a wardrobe, its size makes it perfect for kids, or adults with a modest number of clothes. The cupboard will work for shoes.
Used in the hallway, it has space for several coats, drawers for keys, gloves, hats and other bits you need but want out of sight.
The top of the three drawers has a mirror which slides forward and leans back, with a fabric lined front section which is hidden by the mirror, ideal for keys or jewellery. Further items can be kept behind this, as shown with the bangles.
Beneath is a deep cupboard with a wooden shelf which can be removed easily should you want to keep taller items inside.
This is a wonderful piece in a simple a subtle darker shade with G Plan’s stylish, simple and unfussy midcentury design.
The G Plan ‘E Gomme’ gold stamp (dating from 1950s-mid 60s) is present, on the inside of the wardrobe door as pictured.
