1950s black Bakelite rotary dial telephone

An excellent 1950s black Bakelite rotary dial British telephone.

With a traditional burgundy-brown fabric cable linking the handset and main body and a classic Bakelite telephone look.

The telephone is a model 332L dating from the 1950s.

This hasn’t been tested as a working phone but the bells are present but the ends of the cables will need updating for modern use.

An uncommon feature of this phone is that not only is the drawer to the base not a dummy one, but it still has its original pages of telephone exchange dialing codes, including even the number for a ‘Recipe Service’ and advice on how to answer the telephone.

A section of the bakelite on the back has cracked at some stage and there is a chip above it though these can’t be seen from the front.

This has been thoroughly cleaned and given a label typed on a typewriter on paper stock from the 1950s. The label has also been given a new transparent plastic cover as it would originally have had. You can remove this and add your own label should you wish.

A true 20th century design classic and fantastic piece of office or hallway decor.

Also the perfect prop for set dressing on stage or screen.

The chassis measures approx. 18.5cm deep X 15cm wide X 14cm tall.
