Midcentury Metamec Mantel clock with new battery movement

A beautiful and stylish, working Metamec midcentury mantel or desk clock dating from around the late 1950s-60s.

A fantastic looking and practical piece for the lounge, hallway or home office, this wind up clock is working after well over half a century of use.

With stylish gold tone numerals as opposed to the less appealing Roman numerals on the chapter ring, and a white face with supremely stylish atomic design black hands.

This clock’s original movement was beyond repair so it has been professionally fitted with a brand new quartz movement, so one AA battery will keep it running uninterrupted for years, no need to remember to wind it.

Unlike many clocks which have been given a new movement, and given stock, new hands, the restorer has retained and fitted the original hands so this clock is exactly as it would have looked when it was made. The brass has also been cleaned, the wood polished.
