Antique 19th century sycamore wood butter worker
A wonderful sycamore wooden butter worker, believed to date to the early-mid 1800s.
With a beautifully used and worn patina to the wood, this would once have been used to work salt into butter in a dairy bowl, and to rid excess buttermilk from the mixture.
It works beautifully as a jewellery dish, or a key dish, or for other small pieces.
It could also remain in use in the kitchen, perhaps as a tray for condiments on the table.
23.5cm X 11.5cm.
