Red and Yellow Maccaw print in wooden frame, after Edward Lear (1812-1888)

From a collection called ‘Illustrations of the Family of Psittacidae, or Parrots’ (‘Lear, illustrations of the family of Psittacidæ 1832’) he painted during repeated long visits to the newly opened London Zoo’s Parrot House.
The picture has been professionally fitted, mounted and fitted in an early twentieth century wooden frame with its charming, original long string to the reverse and will arrive ready to hang on a screw. If you’d prefer this on a new string hidden to the reverse of the picture, this can be done professionally for £7. Please contact me after purchase.
A wonderfully colourful bird in a stylish glazed frame.
At the time of listing another Lear parrot in a wooden frame is also for sale and would make a perfect pairing with this one. See final photo.
The picture including its frame measures 42cm X 33cm.
