A mesmerising and truly wonderful dark ciment fondu sculptural bust of a woman.
Her soft and beautiful features are superbly formed and this larger-than-lifesize bust has a wonderful variated finish with characterful streaks of white amongst the dark grey – black. One such streak looks like it could be a tear.
If its origins I only know that she came from a large house in Wiltshire, where she resided for many decades. The hairstyle suggests to me that she was made sometime around the middle of the last century.
