Imperial Safari typewriter made in Portugal in 1973, fully working Typewriter in case fitted with new ribbon

An excellent Imperial Safari typewriter made in Portugal in 1973.

In a sleek contoured blue and off-white with white keys, this sturdy and stylish machine has the quality and expertise of the very long established British royal crested maker Imperial, but as a more modern model it is in very good, clean condition and has seen less use.

Features of this excellent reliable machine which earlier typewriters don’t have include a variable typing tension switch from hard to light to the left side, which is useful to adjust for those more used to typing on a laptop. It also has both a number 1 and 0 key so you don’t need to use the letters I and O.

It also has ‘magic margins’ which simplify a more clunky procedure on earlier machines, where the carriage can be moved to the desired position to set the left margin, the left button pressed, and the same with the right. A similar feature for creating columns is also present.

This typewriter is checked, cleaned, oiled and set up and given a brand new black and red ribbon and arrives at your door ready to type.

Its condition and simplified features make it a real pleasure to use.

It comes in its original hard shell briefcase style carry case as shown.

Measures 34cm wide X 33cm deep X 13cm tall chassis.
