Pair of cheeky monkeys
A wonderful pair of c.1950s money boxes in the form of colourfully dressed monkeys in hats.
These work brilliantly on a shelf or either end of a mantel piece.
As there are a matched pair, they will also work brilliantly as bookends.
They have coin slots in the backs of their heads, but they are old style like the original piggy banks in that the only way to get the coins out easily is to break them open. As a result there are a few coins in one of them which may be teased out through the slot; there’s no telling what coins they are or how old they are!
A fantastic pair for the collector of money boxes, vintage toys and colourful bits of fun.
Both measure 22cm tall X 11cm wide X 11cm deep.
