A wonderful 19th century kitchen table with beautiful turned ebonised legs, a frieze drawer with greenheart knobs, bespoke made to match the one surviving knob.
The top had a multitude of water stains and a couple of unattractive deep scratches so it has been sanded back and given two coats of hard-wearing, wipe-able high quality Fiddes hard wax oil. In order to retain the natural style of the top the oil was in ‘Dead Matte’ and so it does not have a new, glossy look.
The legs have been given a wax with quality Fiddes tinted wax to give them some protection and give them a consistent finish. The legs have been knocked and scraped over probably a century and a half, and these have been left alone as part of their story.
A charming and characterful antique kitchen work table which would make a dining table to seat 4 adults very comfortably or 6 cosily.
Measures 121cm long x 91cm deep x 76cm tall.
