Three c.1950s printing plates
Three fascinating printing plates from c.1950s.
Used for printing books and magazines or newspapers, these plates would’ve been carefully placed then unless and used to print in many multiples.
Fascinating tactile objects of a bygone age.
One is a diagram of something like a motor, with numerous lines pointing at various details with a written description of each. 11cm X 10cm.
Another seems to be abstract, perhaps cubist art – possibly a background over which text was overlaid or perhaps a standalone piece. 16cm X 12cm.
The third is for Bradley’s Boys and Menswear, with a dapper gent and boy dressed smart in an advertisement for a clothes shop. 14cm X 10.5cm.
