Pre-dial French Bakelite CIT telephone with ‘mother-in-law’ receiver
A great looking Pre-dial French Bakelite telephone, a CIT three piece telephone with ‘mother-in-law receiver’.
The metal plate to the base, along with the serial number shows feintly the original seller of three telephone with their Paris address: ‘Melle des Télephones’* 2, rue des Entrepreneurs, Paris’.

With its tall slender trunk and original phone number label (‘Ici 777’ / ‘Here 777’).
It has a great, stylish vintage look and what is known as a mother-in-law receiver, ie someone else can listen in with the additional ear piece which hangs on the reverse.
The cable has no connector so this phone hasn’t been tested in use for functionality.
A stylish near antique piece which looks fantastic in an office or sideboard and is ideal for set dressing and as a theatrical prop.
Measures approximately 23cm tall X 15cm diameter at the base.
