An absolutely fantastic sitting porcelain figurine of a woman in a floral dress, made by ceramicist Gillian Still (b.1939).
Very finely sculpted in porcelain, a young woman in a delicate floral dress and with tangled hair under a hat, sat cross legged on a block.
Gillian Still exhibited at the Royal Academy in London and is respected internationally for her skill with the notoriously tricky porcelain. This piece is from a series of figurines she made. She has been based in West Wales since moving there in the mid 1960s.
Beguiling and pretty and impressive, and a one of a kind piece of art.
