Pair of candle lanterns from Welsh National Opera production of La Bohème
A wonderful pair of old candle lanterns, used by the cast onstage in the winter snow scene in Puccini’s opera La Bohème performed by the Welsh National Opera.
Originally carried, these have been professionally mounted on reclaimed Edwardian timber on earlier bases from an 18th century coffer and colour matched.
These come with a pair of large pillar candles (pictured) and look fantastic placed either side of a hearth or staircase, or on a sideboard.
With a great weathered, bent and battered look, these cultural artefacts still retain some stage snow on their tops from the Paris-set production and make impressive, atmospheric decorative pieces.
59cm tall X 19cm² at bases.
