Midcentury red and white kitchen cabinet, multi compartment 1950s kitchen unit

In red and white, this fantastic 1950s kitchen cabinet has storage and style galore.

From top down there are two textured glass doors ideal for cups/mugs/glasses or dried food/tins. All doors have the original black plastic pulls on them.

Beneath is a fold down door, which due a sturdy metal holding rod each side, the back of the lid forms a very solid Formica work surface where you can prepare food or use as an extra kitchen surface. There’s plenty of storage inside for say tins or dried foods and condiments or crockery.

At the top of the section is a full width drawer which will house utensils, cutlery trays, baking trays and even shorter mugs.

Below are two large cupboards behind two large red doors, with a central shelf inside. These are ideal for plates and bowls and your serving bowls etc. For scale, the plate pictured is 26.5cm in diameter, a full size dinner plate.

This unit is around 70 years old and has been well used over the decades. There are plenty of knocks and marks and places where the paint is worn through to previous layers. I’ve shown these in a collage photo. I have filled and over painted a hole in the thin wood side. The interior of the shelves shows its years, but it’s all sturdy and there is a great deal of storage space.

This great vintage unit by ‘County Kitchen Furniture’ makes great additional storage for a kitchen but could even help out in a workshop or study.
