Large Set of 6 early 20th century oak filing drawers

A fantastic set of 6 large early 20th century solid oak index card filing drawers with brass label holder pulls.

Originally for index cards a library or office, their natural home would be in the study for stationery, perhaps for photographs or other keepsakes, paint brushes, kitchen utensils or herbs and spices, tools, craft supplies…

The drawers are in their original state, so with a slot shaped hole along the centre of the bases (see relevant photo). If I would like me to add a piece of hardboard (3-4mm thick dark brown particle wooden board such as that often seen on the back of picture frames) to fit the bases of all 6 drawers so smaller / narrower items don’t fall through the bases I can do this for £20. Just select the option in the drop down menu before purchase.

They could also be used as a coffee table with storage.

The oak is lovely and warm in tone with some lovely figuring, and the brass label holders/pulls have a gorgeous aged patina.

Labels from a stock of paper from the period the drawers were made has been inserted into the holders to title as you wish.

Measures 49.5cm wide X 41cm deep X 51cm tall. The interiors of the drawers measure 20.7cm wide X 36cm deep X 14cm tall.
