Industrial chair with rotating back rest

An interesting early-mid century industrial chair with tubular steel legs, a very thick, solid Elm seat which has been wax polished, and an unusual slightly padded dark green back rest which tilts over 180°.

The scale of the relatively long thin legs against the low and small back makes it an appealingly unique seat, informed by necessity, presumably the worker had to lean back, or turn the chair around and lean forward and be stable at an angle.

This chair originated from the New Forest area, and is a great piece of English industrial history, and an attractive and useful seat. It would also look great with a large plant sat on it.

Measures 74cm tall X 39cm wide X 39cm deep. The seat height is 46cm.
