Excellent mid 1960s Bush all in one record player – *fully professionally serviced and PAT tested* #RESERVED#
A superb mid 1960s Bush record player fully professionally serviced in green and black with tweed type fabric grille over the speaker.
A strong vintage British style, with green rexine in great condition, original handle and latches, and to the exterior three hidden dials, at the base of the front. On/off – volume, treble and bass. The volume, should you require it can be immense.
You may know Bush as an entry level producer of CD players etc in the ’90s, however, decades before they were bought up by a Japanese company, they were fantastic British audio company producing top end equipment.
The model number of this machine is SRP31C.
Inside is a sprung Garrard deck, which vintage audio fans will be very familiar with as a leading maker of high quality turntables. It plays at 4 speeds, 16, 33, 45 and 78 rpm. So it will play albums, singles and even the older Bakelite gramophone records. For these, the dual stylus needs to be flipped over, a one-second procedure.
The deck is fully automatic, so you lay a record on the spindle and swing the holding arm across. Slide the selector across to Auto and the tone arm will move itself across to the position exactly above the start of the record and gently lower itself down onto the record to play. At the end of the record the arm will swing back to its cradle and the turntable will stop rotating.
Make sure you unclip the arm from its transportation clip first, by sliding the black lever on the base across to the left. Likewise, two screws atop the deck should be up for transport to lock the deck, and down for use which lifts the sprung deck for play.
You can even stack several records on top of one another and they will play one after another, Juke box style!
The record player can be played with the lid closed for tidyness and it’s handy to avoid drink spillages at parties! The bass response is even better with the lid closed, and generally these lids are designed to be played with lids down.
*** Full professional restoration and service ***
Unlike the vast majority of vintage record players you will find on Etsy or eBay, this has already been fully professionally stripped, restored and serviced. Cleaned and oiled internally, all electrolytic capacitors replaced, main rectifier replaced and given a new plug, fuse and cartridge.
The player has also been PAT tested (late July 2024) and bears its pass sticker on the plug.
The original badge has detached over the years and I have made a gold colour replacement.
This great stylish, vintage all in one record player with its built in speaker arrives in great condition ready to play your favourite records.
