Early 20th C. large Medical diagrams, First Aid wall charts- available with or without bespoke wooden frames
A selection of three large early 20th century large Medical diagrams, First Aid wall charts- available to buy with or without bespoke handmade wooden frames.
From a set of fascinating if a little gory for the squeamish wall charts thought to have been made in the early decades of the 20th century for training the St John’s Ambulance service.
As stated at the top of each chart, they are based on the book, ‘First Aid To The Injured And Sick’ by Warwick and Tunstall, which was first published in 1904.
Each large chart comes on linen-backed paper. Please note scuffs and creases which have occurred after their near century of use.
Each contains numerous labelled diagrams, with a very attractive typeface for the headings and labels.
Titles of the posters include:
Anatomy and Physiology: No.1 Bones and Joints (photos 2 & 3)
Anatomy and Physiology: No.4 The Circulatory System (photos 4 & 5)
Haemorrhage: No.1 Principal Arteries of the Body (photos 6 & 7)
Haemorrhage: No.1 Compression of Arteries. (photos 8 & 9)
Dislocations and Fractures: No.1 Dislocations of Shoulder & Elbow, Varieties of Fractures, Repair of Fracture, Fracture of Clavicle. (photos 10 & 11)
Fractures: No.2 Fractures of Humerus, Elbow, Forearm, Pelvis, Femur, Patella, & Leg. (photos 12 & 13).
This listing shows my full collection of six charts.
*** Please contact me for a discount on 3 or more charts.***
Please see also my other educational posters.
Frames: (see last two photos)
Available to buy as they come or with bespoke solid wood frames in three types: chamfered redwood, oak or pine. These are handmade and function through the use of magnetic strips, meaning no breakable glass or reflective surface to distract from the picture. Each frame has a brass hook fitted in the centre of the reverse so that it will balance straight on just one screw. Please see the group photos of the different frames available to be made to order. Please note the unseen reverse of all the frames are made with pine. The titles to the top of the posters are not fully visible if the frames are placed to securely hold the poster.
First select the poster(s) you’d like from the drop down menu then add the frame type you’d like (or unframed if you’d like to source your own frame).
The posters all measure 66cm wide X 101cm tall.
The frames are identical widths to the posters. The different woods measure different heights: Chamfered Redwood 27mm / Oak 21mm / Pine 28mm.
Posters and frames will be sent in sturdy cardboard tubes.
