c.1940s equipment case with craquelure paint

A c.1940s painted wooden transportation case with steel handles and hinged lid.

The craquelure of the paint, where a network of lines across the surface has formed over time gives it a fantastic naturally aged look.

This is likely a protective WW2 era box for transporting equipment, with its padded inner structure, holes through the lid for bolts to lock the lid down, and utilitarian steel handles to the sides.

Makes a great coffee table with storage, or a side table for plants, storage for shoes, hats and scarves, games, anything you need but not in sight. Due to its height and sturdiness it would also work as an extra seat.

A unique and useful piece.

37.5cm wide X 32cm deep X 56cm tall.
