Antique Cornish glass fishing floats
A wonderful set of five antique fishing floats.
Purchased in Cornwall during a trip back to my home land, these belonged to the seller’s grandfather who was a fisherman in the early 1900s who regularly used them in nets for his work.
They were kept beyond their fishing life as Cornish tradition dictates, as the myth goes that if you place these glass floats in your window sills they ward off evil spirits.
Even if they don’t, they will glisten beautifully in the sunlight.
These fishing floats bring a gorgeous green glimmer to a space with its thick bubbled bottle green glass and will look fantastic on a shelf or on a hearth or floor as part of your decor.
Three are dark green in colour, two slightly different shades of clear glass. One of the clear floats has ‘LT’ built into its glass.
They are all the same size with a diameter of approximately 12cm.
