19th century antique copper beer jug with spout

A beautiful 19th century jug with a large spout and many decades of patina which has made the copper a very dark colour from oxidation over the years. This could easily be brought back to a gleaming copper colour but as patina can’t be put back on, it’s left in its current state for those like me who appreciate the age.

The stringing around the spout is coming away from the main body and there is sign of a soldering fix to the base. Please see close up photos.

A beautiful antique copper jug with large spout, probably for beer, likely from the late 19th – early 20th century.

With a good, worn form and patina, this piece is great for watering your house plants or decor for the fireplace, shelf or sideboard.

Measures 26.5cm tall and from the tip of the spout to back of handle 24cm. The base diameter is 15cm.
