Antique solid vellum trunk with brass hardware by Drew & Sons of Piccadilly Circus

An excellent, solid, large leather monogrammed trunk of high quality, made by Drew & Sons of Piccadilly Circus, London.

Founded by Samuel Summers Drew, this manufacturer of luxury cases and hampers was based in Piccadilly Circus between 1887-1914, and between these dates this case was made. They supplied the British royal family as well as European courts.

The latches on vintage cases are most commonly steel or gold colour metal, but these are of a chunky strong solid brass and have remained in untarnished condition. All the latches still work as perfectly as the day it was made.

Within is a full size tray which lifts out to reach the main, large compartment.

Every corner is finished in brass and there are lines of brass studs throughout.

A truly amazing varying patina to the surface, a monogram from the original owner, H.J., quality brass latches which secure easily and firmly, and loads of storage space.

This case makes a fantastic display piece, and a coffee table, while simultaneously working as a storage trunk for almost anything you need but don’t need to see on a daily basis.

It has its antique original keys and is in great condition all round.

Am interestingly stylish piece which still works perfectly and with its characterful patina, is looking better than it ever did.

86cm X 46cm X 33cm tall.

Due to the size, this ships within the mainland UK only.
