A lovely and floral ceramic biscuit barrel dating from the Art Deco period of the 1920s and 30s.
Created at the Wilkinson Pottery in Staffordshire, (right nextdoor to the Newport Pottery where Clarice Cliff became joint Art Director in 1930), this colourful raised, lidded dish with its twist metal handle is a not too often seen biscuit barrel it the period.
With its glorious, geometric semi-circular profile and rounded lid knop, it is firmly in fashion during the Art Deco period of style a century ago.
Measures 21cm wide X 13cm deep X and 14cm tall including the ceramic handle on the lid.
