A fantastic mid-Victorian pine scrub top kitchen table with ebonised painted large baluster turned legs and a large drawer with original knob. ***Shipping is not included, it is by collection or courier. Please read details at the bottom of this section*** With its original black paint to the legs and frame, lightly bubbling and textured in places, worn in and out in others, this table is oozing character and originality and a glimpse into over 150 years of history. The large pine top is in excellent, worked condition, with a few light knocks and scrapes as to be expected. One corner is a little gnarly. The drawer with its original central knob runs the full width of the table and is perfect for cutlery and utensils. Scrub top tables would originally have been used as worktops are now, for food preparation, and as such this is quite wide. In a working kitchen which would have been regularly mopped or scrubbed over the many decades, the feet of the legs will have degraded and been cut down. More recently cylindrical wooden black pieces have been attached to raise these back ~4cm to standard table height.
