Olivetti lettera 32 typewriter, produced in Spain in 1968 in teal blue, in excellent working order with original case and new ribbon

A fantastic, mega stylish Olivetti lettera 32 made at their Spanish plant in Barcelona in 1968.

One of the most sought after typewriters for lovers of mid century style and of typewriter enthusiasts and users, the Letteras feature top end Italian design and supreme easy typeability.

This machine is in an excellent working condition and has been fitted with a brand new black and red ribbon, and has its original teal and black zip case.

This Olivetti has been cleaned, oiled and checked that all mechanical functions and keys are in great working order before having a fresh new ribbon installed so it is ready to type the moment it arrives on your doorstep.

Olivetti typewriters tend to have a light touch which is great for those more used to typing on a computer keyboard.

The Lettera 32 is perhaps the most celebrated model of the Olivetti company, and this particular machine, dated by its serial number to 1968 – the height of its renown amongst users which included Leonard Cohen, Sylvia Plath, Cormac McCarthy and Bob Dylan – was designed by Marcello Nizzoli in 1963 and has several distinctive features including the stylish space bar which is not only completely unique but also unusually quiet, the red tab button and the mini, folding carriage return lever.

Although a brand new ribbon has been installed, once it runs out further ribbons when eventually required are easily sourced online.

I have sold this exact model of typewriter for nearly double the price of the one of here. I wanted to make this great model of typewriter available for those on a lower budget, as this one has a few aesthetic condition issues as follows:

There are two small holes in the top of the chassis where a plaque was once present as this was given as a leaving present from a job.
There are a couple of other scratches to the paintwork on the right side and there is scratching to the carriage return lever.
There is discolouration to the metal work around the platen turn knobs on both sides. About 7 key tops have indented ridges to them. The zip on the case has come partially unstitched from the base of the case.

These issues are entirely aesthetic and do not affect the functionality of the machine. All are visible in the photos.
