Midcentury small bagatelle – early pinball game with 10 balls
A lovely small, bright red traditional English Bagatelle game.
A forerunner of pinball, you can see where that arcade game got its name, with simply produced cups and bumpers for the ball to land in it be redirected by, made from an array of pins or nails.
Amongst them sit holes alongside a printed number of points.
Though earlier examples have sticks with which to push the balls up the channel, this one has a sprung pull which fires the balls up and away.
You can control where the ball ends up by accurately pulling back the spring to different extents, rather than always pulling it out fully, which will send it to the same place each time.
The board is slightly raised at the top so the balls run down into the area of play.
10 new balls are included.
