Midcentury Icelandic studio pottery volcanic lava jug vase by Sigurður Hákon Arnórsson
A midcentury, circa 1970s handmade Icelandic studio pottery jug – vase by Sigurður Hákon Arnórsson.
The unusual colour of the piece takes inspiration from the Icelandic volcanic lava.
I believe this was originally conceived as a jug, filled through the vertical and poured through the diagonal spout. It works beautifully for single stems, dried or fresh.
This piece is in excellent condition from top to bottom.
A great statement of strange beauty, a unique handmade piece which will look fantastic alone or combined on a surface with other unusual objects.
Measures 19cm in height X 18cm wide with spout X 12cm deep.
