Midcentury German Tempora folding alarm clock, with leather case – 8 day movement – VERY quiet tick!

A wonderful little folding Midcentury travel alarm clock, made by Tempora in Germany.

Two features, beyond the attractive snakeskin style leather case where it is often plastic, stand out with this clock.

Firstly it is marked 7 Jewels, and bears an 8 to its face too, referring to the clock having an 8 day movement. This is rare in a clock of this type, which normally needs winding every day.

The other rare feature is the unusually quiet tick of this mechanical clock. As this type of folding travel alarm clock are intended to be used by the bed, the noisy tick can mean these are unworkable by the bed, but this one is the quietest I’ve ever known, and is pretty much silent from a distance if around 30cm.

With a beautifully clear white face with simple gold numerals and stylish pointed hands. The exterior is a textured brown leather and the chuck had gold tone metal outlines.

It has an adjustment dial to increase or decrease the speed slightly should it run fast or slow, one to set the alarm and time and a button to turn the bell alarm off once ringing.

The closed case measures 8cm wide X 8cm deep X 3cm thick.
