Late 19th century First Aid illustration in excellent vintage carved wooden frame

19th century medical diagrams giving techniques for resetting Dislocations in a wonderful carved wooden frame.

This fascinating and amusing plate originates from a Victorian encyclopedia dating from around 1860-80.

From using a gate, to pulling an offending arm against a foot lodged into the armpit, to something involving a mouth with a bar in it and inexplicably four hands.

The frame is one of the best I’ve seen, beautifully carved in contrasting woods in exquisitely accurate detail.

This frame retains its original support for standing on a surface to the reverse, carved as the main frame. It also had a new string for wall hanging should you prefer.

Including the frame the picture measures 31cm tall X 24.5cm wide.
