Edwardian folding wall seat

A fantastically unusual – and useful – antique for the home or workplace.

Though it resembles some form of early sports racket, it is in fact an Edwardian era wooden wall seat, with the original paint.

With a substantial metal sheet spring, the start can be pulled down from its upright position to make a useful little seat, perhaps in the hallway, or on the edge of a kitchen island.

Please note, I have digitally edited my hand out of the pictures – the seat does not stay down without weight on it, due to the spring mechanism.

See it in use:

Requires two sturdy screws for wall mounting.

Measures 78cm tall X 21.5cm wide. The seat depth when folded out is 24.5cm.
